Health Risks During Thailand’s Summer

When summer arrives in Thailand, extremely hot weather and strong sunlight can affect our health. Without proper care, several illnesses may occur, especially those related to heat and food that spoils easily. Understanding these conditions and knowing basic first aid can help reduce symptoms and prevent serious complications.

1.Heat Stroke occurs when someone stays under the sun for too long and the body can no longer regulate its temperature. Symptoms include very high body temperature, headache, dizziness, and possible loss of consciousness. First aid includes moving the person to a shaded or cool place, loosening clothing, and cooling the body with wet cloths or cool water. If symptoms do not improve, seek medical attention immediately.

2.Heat Exhaustion happens when the body loses too much water and salt through sweat. Common symptoms include heavy sweating, fatigue, dizziness, and nausea. The person should rest in a cool place, drink water or electrolyte drinks, and relax until they recover.

3.Food poisoning is common during summer because food can spoil quickly in the heat. Symptoms include stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. First aid involves drinking plenty of water or oral rehydration drinks and getting enough rest. Severe cases require medical attention.

4.Acute Diarrhea is often caused by contaminated food or unclean water. Symptoms include frequent watery stools and weakness. Treatment includes drinking oral rehydration solutions, eating soft foods such as rice porridge, and maintaining good hand hygiene.

5.Heat Rash occurs when sweat becomes trapped under the skin, causing small red itchy bumps, usually on the neck, back, or chest. Keeping the body cool, taking showers, wearing light clothing, and staying in well-ventilated areas can help relieve symptoms.

In conclusion, summer can bring several health risks. However, by drinking enough water, avoiding strong sunlight, eating clean and freshly cooked food, and maintaining good hygiene, we can reduce the risk of these illnesses and stay healthy during the hot season.

Smart AC Use During Thailand’s Hot Season

Thailand’s hot season often brings temperatures of 35–37°C with high humidity. When the weather gets this hot, air conditioners naturally work much harder to keep indoor spaces comfortable. A few simple habits can help your AC run more efficiently, cool your home faster, and reduce unnecessary strain on the system.

1. Set the right temperature
Keep your AC at 25–26°C. Setting it too low forces the compressor to run continuously, increasing energy use and putting extra stress on the unit.

2. Keep the cool air inside
Close doors, windows, and curtains during the day to block heat from entering the room. This helps the AC maintain a stable temperature with less effort.

3. Use a fan to boost cooling
Using a fan with your AC helps circulate cool air across the room so the space cools faster and more evenly.

An air circulator fan works especially well because it pushes air across the entire room, unlike a regular fan.

  • Regular fan: blows air directly at people for immediate cooling.
  • Air circulator: moves air around the whole room, helping cool air spread more efficiently.

4. Keep filters clean

Clean air filters allow better airflow and help the AC perform at its best. Dirty filters make the unit work harder and reduce cooling efficiency.

** For Nichada Group owned and managed properties, the service team will take care of cleaning the AC filters for you as part of the regular maintenance schedule.

5. Be mindful of condensation
During extremely hot weather, very warm air meeting very cold indoor surfaces can cause condensation (water droplets) to form. This is common in humid climates like Thailand.

To reduce condensation:

  • Avoid setting the temperature too low
  • Keep doors and windows closed
  • Use fans to keep air moving
  • Ensure filters and drainage systems are clean

With Thailand’s intense heat, small adjustments can make a big difference. Using your AC wisely helps keep your home comfortable, improve efficiency, and prevent unnecessary maintenance issues

NFR Guidelines for participating  in a dance class.

1. Punctuality and Arrival

  • Early Arrival: Participants are required to arrive at least 10–15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
  • Warm-up Preparation: This allows sufficient time for essential warm-up exercises, ensuring physical readiness and reducing the risk of injury.
  • Late Entry Policy: To maintain the flow of the session and ensure safety, entry may be denied to those arriving after the class has commenced.

2. Mandatory Attendance Registration

  • Check-in Requirement: All participants must sign the attendance register or check in at the reception desk before entering the studio.
  • Capacity Management: This procedure is strictly enforced to monitor class capacity and verify membership eligibility for the safety and comfort of all members

NFR Class Be Core Sculpt and Core Abs.

1. Core Sculpt (Focus: Aesthetics & Definition)

  • Meaning: The word "Sculpt" implies shaping or carving. This focus is on muscle definition and achieving a toned, lean look (such as "11-line" abs or a "six-pack").
  • Goal: To enhance the visual appearance of the midsection by reducing body fat and tightening the muscles.
  • Typical Activities: High-intensity toning exercises or medical treatments like HIFEM (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic technology).

2. Core Abs (Focus: Strength & Function)

  • Meaning: "Abs" refers to the abdominal muscles, while "Core" includes the entire stabilizer system of the body (abs, lower back, and pelvis). This focus is on functional strength.
  • Goal: To build a strong foundation, improve balance, support the spine, and prevent back pain.
  • Typical Activities: Planks, leg raises, and stability-based movements that challenge the "powerhouse" of the body

What should I wear to the gym?

Suitable Exercise Uniforms

Choosing the right workout gear isn't just about style; it's about mobility, breathability, and safety. Ideally, you should choose moisture-wicking fabrics like Polyester or Nylon blended with Spandex for flexibility.

1. Attire by Activity Type

Selecting the right outfit for your activity helps reduce injury and improves performance:

  • Running: Focus on lightweight, highly breathable clothing and anti-chafe shorts. Use dedicated running socks to prevent blisters.
  • Fitness/Weight Training: Wear well-fitted clothes that aren't too loose to avoid getting caught in gym equipment. Pants should be highly elastic for a full range of motion.
  • Yoga/Pilates: Choose form-fitting, highly stretchable outfits to move freely through poses without worrying about the clothes riding up or being revealing.
  • Cardio/HIIT: Support is key. For women, a high-impact sports bra is essential to reduce bounce.

2. Choosing the Right Fabric

  • Synthetic Fabrics: Brands like Nike or Under Armour typically use polyester and nylon, which dry quickly and don't retain moisture.
  • Cotton: Only suitable for low-intensity workouts with minimal sweating. Cotton absorbs sweat, making the clothes heavy and damp during intense exercise.
  • Spandex (Lycra): Essential for high-stretch activities, helping the garment retain its shape.

3. Footwear and Accessories

  • Shoes: Choose shoes specific to your sport. Running shoes offer cushioning, while training shoes prioritize stability for weightlifting.
  • Layering: If exercising in cold weather or early morning, wear a lightweight jacket for warming up that can be easily removed once your body heats up.
