Nichada Thani: 40 Years of Community, Connection, and Home

Nichada Thani is one of Thailand’s most established premium international communities, renowned for its exceptional quality of life, multicultural atmosphere, and thoughtfully designed environment. Over the past four decades, Nichada Thani has grown from a visionary idea into one of the country’s most recognized expat communities — a place where families from around the world truly feel at home.

1986–1991 | The Beginning of a Vision

Nichada Thani was founded by ACM. Auychai Changrew and Mrs. Vinita Changrew and named after their daughter, Nichada. The goal was to create an international residential community focused on modern living, nature, and belonging. Early developments included Nichada Park, Natakorn Park, and housing for International School Bangkok (ISB) teachers.

1992–1996 | Building a Community

With ISB expanding nearby, more expatriate families moved in, shaping Nichada Thani into an international neighborhood. Nichada Lake was created from a former mining site and became the heart of the community. Recreational facilities, golf carts, and early rental housing like “Danicha” were introduced.

1997–2006 | Resilience and Growth

Despite the Asian financial crisis, development continued. New construction methods were introduced, along with “Lakeside Residence,” the first lakefront rental homes, reinforcing Nichada’s focus on quality international living.

2007–2015 | Expansion and Stability

The community expanded with new housing projects and improved flood protection after major national floods. Lifestyle facilities such as Nichada Plaza HQ and Nichada Secret Garden were developed, along with a lakeside condominium project.

2016–2024 | Modern Luxury Era

Leadership transitioned to Ms. Nichada Changrew, bringing a new focus on innovation and sustainability. Luxury homes like the “Jewel Collection” were introduced, and the community received recognition for premium residential development

Today | More Than a Residence — A Home

Nichada Thani remains one of Thailand’s most distinctive international residential communities, known for its premium lifestyle, natural surroundings, security, and culturally diverse environment.

For more than 40 years, Nichada Thani has been more than just a place to live. It has become a home filled with friendships, memories, and meaningful moments shared by people from all around the world. .

From a dream in 1986 to a flourishing global community today, every step of Nichada Thani’s journey has been shaped by the trust, support, and shared experiences of its residents and families.

As time moves forward, Nichada Thani continues to stand as a welcoming community — a place where people connect, grow together, and always feel at home.

This sense of belonging has been further strengthened by the partners who have walked this journey with us. Most notably, this 40-year milestone is even more special because it is shared with another essential part of our story: International School Bangkok (ISB).

Growing Together: The Nichada & ISB Bond

For decades, ISB has been the cornerstone of life at Nichada, a place where generations have built lifelong friendships and discovered their potential.

This month is truly extraordinary as we celebrate a double milestone: while Nichada Thani reaches its 40th anniversary, ISB also celebrates 75 wonderful years of excellence.

Thank you, ISB, for being an inseparable part of our story. Happy Anniversary! Together, we continue to build a home where everyone belongs.

A Heartfelt Thank You

To every family, resident, friend, and community member who has been part of this journey thank you.

Thank you for the stories, the laughter, the friendships, and the memories that have shaped Nichada Thani over the past four decades. Your trust and support have helped transform a vision into a thriving international community unlike any other in Thailand.

No matter how much the world changes, Nichada Thani will always remain a warm and connected place to call home.

Thank you for being part of the first 40 years and for helping shape the future ahead together.

TMD Warns of 60% Rain in Bangkok, Advises Public to Stay Alert During Rainy Season

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has warned residents in Bangkok and nearby areas to prepare for thunderstorms covering around 60% of the capital, while several provinces across Thailand continue to face heavy rain, strong winds, and possible flash floods due to an intensifying southwest monsoon.

People living in low-lying areas and near waterways are being urged to closely monitor weather updates, as continuous rainfall could trigger flooding and runoff in vulnerable areas.

In Bangkok, scattered thunderstorms are expected mainly during the afternoon and evening hours, potentially causing traffic congestion, slippery roads, and travel delays. Motorists are advised to drive carefully and allow extra travel time.

How to Stay Safe During Heavy Rain

  • Carry an umbrella, raincoat, or waterproof bags for electronic devices.
  • Avoid walking through flooded areas to reduce the risk of electric shocks and infections.
  • Check traffic and flood conditions before traveling, especially in flood-prone zones.
  • Unplug electrical appliances during severe thunderstorms.

Beware of These 3 Common Rainy Season Diseases

Rainy season may bring cooler weather, but it also increases the risk of infections and mosquito-borne diseases. Here are three common illnesses to be aware of — and how to protect yourself.

1. Dengue Fever

Dengue fever spreads through mosquito bites, especially during the rainy season when stagnant water becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Common Symptoms

  • High fever
  • Severe headache
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Skin rash

Prevention Tips

  • Remove standing water around your home
  • Use mosquito repellent
  • Wear long-sleeved clothing
  • Keep windows and doors screened

2. Flu and Common Cold

Weather changes and crowded indoor spaces make flu and colds more common during rainy days.

Common Symptoms

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny nose
  • Fatigue

Prevention Tips

  • Wash your hands regularly
  • Get enough rest
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Wear a mask in crowded places

3. Leptospirosis (Rat Urine Disease)

This bacterial infection can spread through floodwater contaminated with animal urine.

Common Symptoms

  • Fever
  • Muscle pain
  • Red eyes
  • Headache
  • Vomiting

Prevention Tips

  • Avoid walking through floodwater
  • Wear waterproof boots if necessary
  • Clean yourself after contact with dirty water
  • Cover open wounds properly

Stay Safe This Rainy Season

Small daily habits like staying clean, avoiding stagnant water, and taking care of your health can greatly reduce your risk of illness during the rainy season.

How to Calculate Maximum Heart Rate (MaxHR)

Target heart rates for exercise depend on your age and fitness goals. Generally, it should stay between 50% to 85% of your Maximum Heart Rate (MaxHR).

The simplest formula is:

MaxHR = 220 - Age

Example: If you are 30 years old, your MaxHR is (220 - 30 = 190\) beats per minute (bpm).

The 5 Heart Rate Zones

Training in different zones helps you achieve specific results:

  • Zone 1 (50-60% MaxHR): Warm Up. Good for beginners, warming up, or recovery.
  • Zone 2 (60-70% MaxHR): Fat Burn. The "sweet spot" for weight loss as the body efficiently burns fat for fuel.
  • Zone 3 (70-80% MaxHR): Aerobic / Cardio. Improves overall fitness, heart strength, and lung capacity.
  • Zone 4 (80-90% MaxHR): Anaerobic / Tempo. High intensity; improves endurance and speed. You will only be able to speak in short sentences.
  • Zone 5 (90-100% MaxHR): Red Line / Sprint. Maximum effort, usually used for HIIT or professional athletes. Not for long-duration exercise.

  Core Sculpt Class

Core Sculpt Class  is a workout class focused on strengthening and toning the core muscles

including the abdomen, back, hips, and glutes. It uses Pilates-style movements and bodyweight exercises as a foundation, typically delivered at high intensity while remaining low-impact on the joints. The class helps shape and define the body for a more sculpted look, and usually runs for about 20–30 minutes, making it an efficient option for fast results.
