Fun Fact – Flip Your Thai Coin and Discover Bangkok’s Temples

Bangkok, a city known for its rich history and vibrant culture, offers an abundance of spiritual landmarks. But what if the journey to explore these temples could start with something as simple as a Thai coin?
Each coin in your pocket can guide you to one of the city’s most iconic and sacred sites.
1 Baht – Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha)

Land on the 1-baht coin, and you’ve arrived at Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, located within the Grand Palace complex.
Wat Phra Kaew is Thailand’s most sacred temple, home to the Emerald Buddha, carved from a single block of jade.
2 Baht – Wat Saket (The Golden Mount)

If you flip a 2-baht coin, you’re headed to Wat Saket, home of the Golden Mount (Phu Khao Thong).
This artificial hill, originally constructed during the Ayutthaya period and later restored by King Rama I, is crowned with a shining golden chedi. Inside, a relic of the Buddha, brought from India, is enshrined.
Every November, the temple hosts a massive fair, where pilgrims circle the mount under the full moon.
5 Baht – Wat Benchamabophit (The Marble Temple)

The 5-baht coin takes us to Wat Benchamabophit, better known as the Marble Temple.
Built in 1899 during King Rama V’s reign, this temple is a fusion of traditional Thai architecture and European influences.
10 Baht – Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn)

the 10-baht coin, your gateway to Wat Arun, the stunning Temple of Dawn, located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.
This iconic landmark, dating back to the Ayutthaya period, was once home to the Emerald Buddha before it was moved to the Grand Palace.
With its towering 82-meter prang, decorated with porcelain and seashells, Wat Arun radiates under the morning sun, symbolising the rise of the Rattanakosin Kingdom.
Every Coin Tells a Story
Each Thai coin holds a unique story, taking you on a journey through the spiritual heart of Bangkok.
So next time you hold a Thai coin, take a moment to reflect; it may just lead you to your next adventure.

Why Residents Should Avoid Feeding Stray Cats: Health, Safety, and Community Concerns

Residents are strongly advised not to feed stray cats. Although it may seem kind, feeding them can create several serious problems for both the community and the animals.
Leftover food attracts rats, insects, and other pests, and feeding spots often become dirty or smelly, affecting shared areas and nearby homes.
Feeding also encourages more cats to gather in one place, which can lead to territorial fighting, and a rapid increase in the stray cat population. Stray cats may also carry fleas or diseases, which can pose health risks—especially to children and residents who come into close contact.Rabies is recently an epidemic in some parts of Bangkok and other provinces. Stray cats without periodic vaccine shots are highly prone to rabies and can pose danger to Nichada Thani residents and pets.
Moreover, many foods given out of kindness are not suitable for cats and can cause stomach issues.
If you notice any problems with stray animals, please report them to the security team. They will coordinate with the Nichada team to safely capture and handle the cats. The security team will then put them in the care of stray animals foundation where they will find suitable pet owner and/or care for them including vaccinations.

Popular sports Pickleball

Get to know Popular sports Pickleball.
Pickleball is a sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It is played on a small court using a flat paddle and a plastic perforated ball. It is easy to play, fun, and does not require a lot of physical strength.
Two-Bounce Rule
After the serve, the receiving side must return the ball only after it has bounced once on their side. Then, the serving side must also return the ball only after it has bounced once on their side, making a total of two required bounces.
After the ball has bounced once on each side, both sides may choose to volley (hit the ball before it bounces) or hit a groundstroke (after the bounce).
The Two-Bounce Rule helps reduce the advantage of serving and volleying, promoting longer rallies during play.
