Rainy Season and Pest
The rainy season brings more than just flooding, it's also peak time for one of the most active pests: cockroaches. Rainwater surges through sewers and drains, flushing them out of their hiding spots.
Disturbed nests burst open, sending these insects scrambling for new shelter, cupboards, musty kitchens, even behind ceiling panels, anywhere close to warmth and food.
Prevention is the best defense.
To keep cockroaches at bay, promptly dispose of open trash and eliminate all food sources. Inspect ceilings for panel gaps or holes and seal any openings to block entry.
Signs You May Have a Cockroach Problem:
- Droppings – Small black pellets typically found on shelves, along walls, or in common travel paths.
- Smear Marks – In damp areas, you may notice brown streaks or stains on floors and in corners.
- Shed Skins – Cockroaches shed their skins 5–8 times before reaching adulthood, leaving behind brownish shells in breeding areas.
If you notice any of these signs in your home, please contact your Customer Relations Representative (Butler) immediately if you are a Velvet Member. Our pest control team will promptly deploy traps and take appropriate action. If you are not a Velvet Member, contact your Lessor/Homeowner.
